About Bloomfield, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Bloomfield is a small city found in Nelson County, Kentucky, and as of 2010, about 840 people called the community home. The city is located on the eastern fork of Simpson Creek, and it was previously known as Middlesburg before being renamed Bloomfield in 1817. Bloomfield is home to two schools – Bloomfield Elementary and Bloomfield Middle Schools – and the Bloomfield Mill is also found in the community. Famed TV and film producer Jerry Bruckheimer has also called Bloomfield home.
Despite the small size of Bloomfield, there are several notable things to see or do here. There are two prominent wineries found in the community: Springhill Winery and Chuckleberry Farm & Winery. There are a couple of interesting specialty shops, including This Old House Florist Antiques & Gifts and Nettie Jarvis Antiques. Visitors looking for a bite to eat might also like to stop at Hometown Pizza or the Bourbon Trail Diner.
The Bloomfield area is known for its humid subtropical climate zone, and while the area tends to be warmer than other parts of the country, both heating and cooling systems are necessities at home. The spring season tends to begin toward the end of March, and while weather is warm and pleasant, severe weather with the occasional tornado is not uncommon. This is a good time to service area air conditioning systems to ensure they are ready for summer, because conditions will quickly turn hot and humid with long, hazy periods that exceed 90 degrees.
The winter months typically bring a mix of sleet, rain, and snow, although there is only about a foot or less of total snowfall accumulation on an average year. Average lows in January fall to about 26 degrees, although there are a few days each season where temperatures will dip under 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Without a reliable furnace in place that has been properly serviced by an HVAC pro, interior conditions could quickly become just as dangerous as those outdoors.
