About Lenore, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Located in Nelson County, Lenore, Kentucky is a small community. Lenore is situated just off of Route 150 near Highgrove and Nazareth, and it also shares a zip code with Samuels and Deatsville. Lenore is located about 12 miles north of Bardstown, 33 miles from Elizabethtown, and 35 miles southeast of Louisville.
Lenore is a small town, so with the exception of an area park and the fact that the community is found along Cox Creek, there are very few attractions located here. However, there are some notable attractions in the other small communities in the region. Nazareth is home to the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, and Clermont is home to the Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest. Outdoor enthusiasts may also prefer a trip to Knobs State Forest or Taylorsville Lake State Park, both of which are just a short drive away.
Lenore lies within the heart of the U.S. humid subtropical climate zone, so it is important to know what that means for the area in terms of weather. During the summer months, conditions are often hot and hazy, with high humidity levels making temperatures well into the 90s feel even warmer. Severe storms with tornadoes are also entirely possible, so to stay safe regardless of what is going on outdoors, Nelson County residents will want to have access to a home with a reliable central air conditioning unit.
Winters in Lenore and the rest of the county are cool to cold, and while average daytime highs might reach the 40s, overnight lows tend to hang out in the mid-20s. While snow isn’t extremely common, other dangerous weather patterns like sleet and freezing rain do frequent the area, so it is important that residents prepare themselves with an efficient furnace or heat pump. Without these important appliances, indoor pipes and plumbing could be at a high risk of freezing.
